By Jed Blackwell/The Spartanburg Sports Report

With one exception, area playoff matchups are set as the SCHSL playoffs will begin on Monday.

In the 2A girls bracket, Region I-2A No. 2 seed Landrum is still awaiting an opponent, as Gray Collegiate Academy and Saluda are playing Saturday for second place in Region III-2A. The loser is the No. 3 seed in that region and will visit Landrum.

In matchups already decided, the playoffs will officially begin locally on Monday with 3A girls action. Broome, the No. 4 seed from Region III, will visit Region IV champion Fairfield Central. Woodruff, the No. 2 seed from Region III, will host Region IV No. 3 Columbia.

Tuesday sees action in 5A girls, 3A boys and 2A boys action. In the 5A girls bracket, Region III champion Dorman will host Fort Mill while No. 3 seed Byrnes travels to Clover and No. 4 seed Boiling Springs visits Rock Hill.

In the 3A boys bracket, Chapman, the No. 2 seed from Region III, will host Region IV No. 3 Fairfield Central, while fourth-place Broome will visit Region IV champion Chester.

In 2A boys, Region I No. 2 Landrum hosts Region IV No. 3 Fox Creek, while No. 4 Chesnee visits region champion Gray Collegiate Academy.

The first round of the playoffs will conclude Wednesday night with 5A boys action. Region III-5A champion Dorman hosts Region IV No. 4 Northwestern, No. 4 Byrnes visits Region IV champion Fort Mill, and No. 3 Spartanburg travels to second-seeded Clover.
