A pair of South Carolina Select all-stars lead the list of six Spartanburg County players selected for their respective classification’s South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association All-State teams.
Five boys and one girl were selected for All-State honors. Byrnes’ Hayden Brown and Dorman’s Zach Butler made the boys 5A team, Chapman’s Tyrell Oglesby grabbed 3A honors, and Landrum’s Trey Smith and Foster Bridges were selected to the 2A team.
Dorman’s Jasmine Webb was the only county girl’s player selected, making the 5A team.
Brown, a signee with The Citadel, averages 20.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for the Rebels. Butler, who will play collegiately at Ohio University, helped lead the Cavaliers to the Region III-5A title with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists per game.
Oglesby paces Chapman with 19.2 points per contest. Smith puts up 26.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.1 steals per game for Landrum, while teammate Bridges posts 17.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1 blocked shot per contest.
Webb helped lead Dorman to the Region III-5A girls’ title, averaging nearly a double-double with 13.7 points and 9.8 rebounds. She blocks 2.1 shots per game.
