Three teams still alive in playoffs

By Jed Blackwell/The Spartanburg Sports Report

Three area teams are still alive in the SCHSL basketball playoffs as the third round begins on Monday.

The Dorman girls and boys and the Landrum girls will all vie for a spot in the Upper State finals this weekend at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville.

The Dorman teams will host third-round games, while Landrum will be on the road.

Dorman’s girls moved on to the Upper State semifinals by blasting Westside 63-40. The Cavaliers had eight players score at least five points in a balanced scoring attack.

The Lady Cavaliers host Westside on Monday night.

The Dorman boys moved into the third round with a 67-51 victory over Hillcrest on Saturday. The Cavaliers got 20 points from Tyson McClain and 11 from Gabe Bryant in the win.

Dorman now faces a Riverside team which edged Fort Mill 60-59 on Saturday. The Cavaliers will host the Warriors on Tuesday at 7.

Landrum’s girls earned a spot in the third round by defeating Chesterfield 79-40. The Lady Cardinals will visit Andrew Jackson on Monday night with a spot in the Upper State final at stake.
