Local All-Stars Play Well

Local basketball standouts selected for statewide All-Star games played well over the weekend.

Chapman’s Tyrell Oglesby was the local player with the most impact, playing in the South Carolina Basketball Coaches’ Association North-South All-Star game.

Oglesby scored 13 points and was named Most Valuable Player for the North in a 106-102 loss. Dorman’s Tae Cannon added 11 points for the North squad.

In the girls’ game, Dorman’s Jasmine Webb scored four points and Boiling Springs’ Deja Pilgrim added two as the South beat the North 81-56.

North Carolina took a 134-115 victory in the NC/SC Select game. Dorman’s Zach Butler scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds, while Byrnes’ Hayden Brown scored four and pulled down 12 boards in the game.
