Lacrosse Playoffs Set

By Jed Blackwell/The Spartanburg Sports Report

Area 5A lacrosse teams will begin the playoffs this week, with teams from all four county 5A schools in action.

In the girls’ bracket, Dorman is the No. 3 seed and will have the possibility of two home games. The Lady Cavaliers will host Hillcrest in Tuesday’s opening round, and would face the Mauldin-Riverside winner in Round Two.

Spartanburg will also host a Round One game on Tuesday, as the Lady Vikings entertain Spring Valley. Spartanburg would face the Boiling Springs-Fort Mill winner in Round Two, visiting Fort Mill or Hosting Boiling Springs.

Byrnes will visit No. 2 seed J.L. Mann. The Lady Rebels would travel to Clover or Woodmont with a win.

In the boys’ bracket, Dorman is the lone host team and is the No. 1 seed overall in the state playoffs. The Cavaliers host Nation Ford on Tuesday, and would host the J.L. Mann-Lexington winner on Thursday.

In other Round One matchups, Boiling Springs visits Dutch Fork, Spartanburg is on the road at Mauldin and Byrnes travels to Carolina Forest.
