Week four is upon us. Another week with some pretty good football games to be played. We have some teams that are undefeated and we have a couple of teams still looking for their first win. One team will fall from the ranks of the undefeated, and I think at least one team looking for their first win will find it.
Broome at Byrnes-GOTW presented by Speed Factory
This is our game of the week for a reason. Both of these teams are undefeated and have been rolling right along in the first few weeks. Broome had looked really good on the offensive side of the ball, while the Rebels have been great on defense and special teams. That’s what makes this matchup so intriguing, strength vs strength. Unfortunately for the Centurions injuries are also part of the game. Broome will likely be missing several players on the offensive side of the ball including their quarterback who was our player of the week for Week Zero. With that taken into account plus the fact that Byrnes is deeper numbers wise I think the Rebels cruise to a win. Not to mention the Rebels wanting revenge for last years loss at Byrnes.
Pick-Byrnes
Northwestern at Spartanburg
The Vikings have really found something the last two weeks. Or have they? The last two weeks the Vikings have played two teams that aren’t very good. The positive part of playing these subpar opponents is it has allowed the Vikings to settle some things, mainly who will be their quarterback. Northwestern’s defense doesn’t appear to be elite and their offense has struggled against good defenses (Byrnes and South Pointe) this year. I think the Viking defense is good enough to get the stops tonight and the offense will do enough to win.
Pick-Spartanburg
Dorman at Rock Hill
Dorman really needed that bye week last week. The Cavs were banged up especially on defense. They will get most of their players back, mainly in secondary, this week against the Bearcats. Dorman wins.
Pick-Dorman
Boiling Springs at Laurens
Najee Thompson was fantastic last week against Rock Hill. Look for more of the same against a Laurens team that has trouble stopping people.
Pick-Boiling Springs
Chapman vs Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge gives up a lot of points. Chapman scores a lot of points. This could get ugly. Plus last week the Chapman defense stepped up and shut out a good Chesnee offense. If the defense is going to start playing like that this team is super dangerous.
Pick-Chapman
Chesnee at Berea
Berea is a running football team. They will attempt to keep Chesnee’s offense off the field as much as possible. Chesnee will have to take advantage of the opportunities they are given when the have the ball. Chesnee’s offense is very capable of doing just that. I think Kyler Reagan has a big game.
Pick-Chesnee
Landurm at West Oak
Landrum is 0-3 on the season. West Oak hasn’t won a game since October 30, 2015. Landrum shows signs of getting better every week. West Oak continues to give up a lot of points every week and can’t score very many. This season the Warriors have been outscored 217-20. Landrum puts their first notch in the win column this year.
Pick-Landrum
Woodruff vs Greer
Woodruff is banged up. They will play their 3rd quarterback of the season tonight. Greer is really talented especially at running back. The Woodruff defense has struggled this season and without being at full strength on offense that will be tough to overcome
.
Pick-Greer
