PWO for DJ Twitty

DJ Twitty announced via Twitter on Thursday morning that he had been offered a preferred walk on spot from The University of South Carolina.

Cole Bryson from Fox Sports 1400 talked to DJ immediately following the announcement.

“I have known about the PWO offer for about a month,” says Twitty. “Bobby Bentley contacted me and I am very excited about the opportunity to get the chance to walk on.”

DJ has received several scholarship offers from other schools, (Campbell, Pikeville, & Limestone) but this is the biggest one he has received as of yet.

When asked if he considers walking on, DJ responded “I am interested in going to South Carolina. It is a great school with a great environment. I am leaning in the direction of one school right now but am not at all rushed and am going to wait to weigh all my options.”

Father, Lamond Twitty says this offer may spark some more recruiting conversations as well.

“We are excited for DJ and this opportunity. I am ecstatic that they have offered this to DJ.”

Lamond also says he has done his homework on this program and knows the situation they are in.

“I have researched this a lot and I know that USC is low on scholarships at this moment but you never know what may happen if DJ just gets his foot in the door.”

State Champion DJ Twitty has showcased his talent around the state of South Carolina for several years now and can be a great asset to a team that may be wanting a powerful running back.
