How is it week 7 already. Seems like only last week we were gearing up for the start of the season. Region play is now in full swing and it has been good so far, and this week the play off picture will clear up even more. Or will it?
Union at Woodruff-Burrito Hub Game of the Week
The Yellow Jackets and the Wolverines both won last week to get off to a 1-0 start in region play. Everyone knows about the storylines surrounding this game, with Woodruff opposing the Union move to 3A and Bradley Adams leaving Union County for the Woodruff job. On the field Union County has found the majority of their success in the rushing game this season. Woodruff can get it done through the air and on the ground. Which defense will step up and make enough plays to win the game? I think Union County will be able to hang in this game for a while, but I think their secondary will give them issues. Keegan Halloran is one of the best quarterbacks I have seen in a while and an inexperienced secondary isn’t something you want to have when facing the senior signal caller. Kesean Glover is very talented for Union County and he has impressed me again this season with his athletic ability. Union cannot afford to be one dimensional tonight. They will have to be able to throw to stay in this game. Will the off the field stuff be enough motivation to propel Union County to the win?

Dorman at Gaffney
Dorman was spotted 14 points last week and almost lost the game. The offense, led by Matthew Powell, was calm, cool, and collected on the last drive when Dorman took the ball down the field and won the game. It was a really impressive drive by the Dorman offense. Gaffney has had some offensive struggles this season, but there defense has been pretty good. I do not think that Gaffney will be able to do enough however to beat the Cavs this week. Dorman has too many offensive weapons. This will set up a potential region Championship game next week between Byrnes and Dorman.
Pick -Dorman
Boiling Springs at Spartanburg
The Vikings almost upset the Cavilers last week. The feel down early but got back up and keep fighting. Spartanburg has found something over the last two weeks that appears to be working. Cartledge looked really good against Dorman last week. Can he be consistent and do it two weeks in a row? He will have to do it against a good Boiling Springs defense. I don’t think the Boiling Springs offense will be able to score enough on the Spartanburg defense to get this win. I know the Bulldogs have had the Vikings number recently but I think that ends this week.
Pick-Spartanburg
Chapman will roll against Carolina and Byrnes has no trouble with Mauldin.
Travelers Rest lost their first game of the year last week and this week they will lose their second probably by a few touchdowns to Greer.
Landrum will beat St. Joes to keep their hot streak alive.
Broome at Chesnee
Broome went toe to toe with a very good Chapman squad last week. Closest game Chapman has played in a while. Give Coach Fleming and those guys a lot of credit, they have faced some adversity with injuries this year and have kept on fighting. I think they will be rewarded this week with a win over Chesnee.
