Region play is finally here! Let’s take a look at the matchups from 2A/3A in our local listening area.
Chapman @ Woodruff
Chapman was off last week so they should be fresh coming into this game against Woodruff.
Woodruff played Greer last Friday night and for most of the game it was fairly close but the Yellow Jackets proved to be too much for the Wolverines to handle as they would go on to win 35-19.
Woodruff might have their Quarterback back as Carson Tucker was cleared to play which will make them more dangerous on offense.
But I am leaning towards Chapman in this game as I think Woodruff will keep it close early on but in the end, I see Chapman winning this game by double digits.
Union @ Clinton
The Union Yellow Jackets did not play last week and they are still looking for their first win of the year and they will look to pick that victory up against Clinton and start their region schedule off right.
But that will not be an easy task as the Red Devils are unbeaten this season with a 5-0 record.
I have seen in multiple seasons the Yellow Jackets start off slow with their non-regional schedule and then dominate inside their region. I do expect the Yellow Jackets to get going once again and I have them winning a close one against Clinton.
Legion @ Chesnee
Chesnee will host Legion on Friday night and both teams are looking for the first win of the year. This is another non-region Chesnee and the Eagles have shown flashes of being a solid team but just have not been able to put it together so far this year.
This just might be the week the Eagles pick up their first win as Legion has really struggled this season at 0-4 hasn’t been able to score a single point on the season.
I expect Chesnee to get on track and win big in this one
