Just weeks after Head Coach Dustin Curtis announced he was leaving the program to eventually take the head coaching job at Lexington, Dorman has their new coach.
In a release on Monday afternoon Dorman athletic director Jon Stoehr announced that Jake Morris will be the teams new head coach.
Morris has been at Dorman for the last nine years serving as an assistant under Dave Gutshall and as Associate Head Coach last season under Curtis.
According to the release:
“A lifelong Cavalier, Coach Morris was a captain of the 2009 Dorman State Championship football team. Morris had a decorated career as a Cavalier and was named All-State, All-Region, All-Area, and a participant in the North-South game. Morris played collegiately at North Greenville University under Coach Jamey Chadwell and was a four-year starter. While at NGU, he was a part of the Crusader teams that claimed the NCCAA National Championship in 2010, and the school’s first NCAA Division II playoff appearance in 2011 that saw the Crusaders advance to the Quarterfinals.”
Morris has been serving as interim head coach since Curtis’ departure last month.
