Vikings Have New Basketball Coach

In a release on Tuesday the Spartanburg High School Athletic Department made the following announcement:

Coach Caleb Gaither, the 2022-2023 Head Boys Basketball Coach at SHS, recently stepped down to accept a position in the Rock Hill area in athletic administration.
Spartanburg High School Athletics is proud to announce today that Zac Rich, the Dorman Associate Head Coach, has accepted the position to become the next Head Boys Basketball Coach at Spartanburg High School.
Coach Rich will meet with our returning players today at 12:30pm.
Rich who is no stranger to the area comes from Dorman High School where he has served as an assistant under Thomas Ryan.  For the last five seasons he has served as the Associate Head Coach of the Cavs after having previously served as an assistant coach and as the JV coach.  During his time coaching at Dorman the Cavs have won five state titles, on state runner-up, and ten region titles.
Rich played college basketball at USC Upstate where he was a four year Letterman playing for legendary coach Eddie Payne.
Coach Rich and his wife Alisha have two children, a son, Brandt (7) and daughter Sutton (4).
