Week 8 POTW

Some players could be player of the week almost every week, or at least nominated for it.  They have big game after big game and help lead their teams to victory week after week.

One of those players in Spartanburg Viking linebacker Cam Smith. He is consistently one the best players in our area. He has big games almost every week and is the spark that lights the fire under the Viking defense with his play on the field.

This past Friday night against Boiling Springs Smith had 13 tackles and 2.5 sacks, to help lead the Vikings to an impressive 27-7 win over the Bulldogs.  That stat line is enough to earn him this Week’s Fox Sports Spartanburg Electrifying Player of the Week for week 8.

The win Friday night keeps the Vikings undefeated in Region 2 5A as the look forward to another region game this Friday night against the Byrnes Rebels at Viking Stadium.

Congratulations to the Vikings on the win and Congratulations to Cam Smith on being the Fox Sports Spartanburg Electrifying Player of the week presented by Broad River Electric Cooperative.
