This was the week that was originally scheduled to be the last week of the regular season. Due to the hurricane that is no longer the case. We will have regular season football next week. This week still provides some great matchups and some very important games that will have major influence on the playoffs. Let’s get to it.
Greer at Daniel:
The Yellow Jackets have really been on fire since the start of region play. Nick Holmes has really come into his own and cemented himself as one of the best running backs in the area. Since defeating the Byrnes Rebels earlier this year the Jackets offense has been firing on all cylinders and the defense has been good.
The Daniel Lions are a different animal though. The Lions are one of the best teams in any classification. Their lone loss this year came at the hands of JL Mann a 28-23 loss back in early September. Daniel scores a lot and play sound defense.
I think the Daniel offense is too much for Greer tonight.
Pick- Daniel
Chesnee at Landrum:
Landrum has dropped their last two region contests after getting out two a 5-1 start. In the last two games they have given up 98 combined points to Clinton and Liberty. The offense has been slowed over the last two games to scoring 22 and 24 points after averaging around 44 points per game during their winning streak. Ty Foster, Aiden Kelly, Micah McClintock, and Titus Poore still rank very high in offensive categories on the HawkLaw Stat Sheet. Can they get their offensive groove back this week?
Chesnee’s Qb Evan Lawter is currently ranked 10th in the area in rushing. The Eagles are coming off a disappointing loss last week to Crescent. They will try to play keep away from the Landrum offense tonight by keeping the ball on the ground if they can be successful at that they can win.
Pick: Chesnee
I also like Boiling Springs over Byrnes tonight. The Rebel offense is going to have to find something that works. Boiling Springs should be able to move the ball on Byrnes defense some tonight and I don’t know if the Rebel offense can move it.
Gaffney will roll Wade Hampton and try to get their offense rolling ahead of a region title game next week.
Spartanburg defeat Riverside handing the Vikings at least a share of the region title.
I like Dorman to get it done again this week vs Eastside but they need to be careful of the letdown game.
Woodruff offense will be too much for Union County to handle.
Fun week 10 and next week proves to be even more fun! Hope you all had a great Halloween and cannot wait to see what the month of November has to offer us!
