The Byrnes Rebels got off the deck following their loss to Spartanburg last week and got a big region win over the Boiling Springs Bulldogs.
For an offense that has had its struggles this year going toe to toe and beating Boiling Springs was a a big win. A missing piece for the Byrnes offense this season has been running back Tre Segarra, who preseason was regarded as one of the best in the area. Him being out with injury has plagued the Rebels this season. They sure were glad to get him back Friday night.
Apparently he was also glad to be back he had a huge game and looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. Segarra ran the ball 19 times Friday night for 142 yards and two touchdowns while also adding 4 catches for 38 yards and another touchdown. The Rebels defeated the Bulldogs 27-22 on Friday night to claim another region win.
That performance on any night would be enough to garner player of the week honors but add to it first game back from injury and it would be hard to make a case against it. Congratulations to Tre Segarra our Electrifying Player of the Week for week 10 of the season and congratulations to the Byrnes Rebels on their win over Boiling Springs. The Rebels will be off this week and will await their playoff destiny for round 1!
