Regular Season Finale

How is the regular season already coming to an end. These weeks have truly flown by. It has been one heck of a ride and I cannot wait until the playoffs start next week, but first we have some things left to decide.  Region titles, playoff seedings, and bragging rights all on the line across our area tonight! Let’s do this.

Spartanburg at Gaffney

An old rivalry. Region title. It doesn’t get much better than this. These are two really good teams, both defenses are awesome and they both have really good running backs. This could be another epic matchup between two historically good programs.

For Spartanburg to win, the offensive line has to be able to hold up.  If they can create some running lanes Trenton Lynch can do the rest.  He is one of the best running backs I have seen in quite a while.  If he can run like he has the last few weeks Spartanburg can win the region title.  I would say that defensively the linebackers will have to play well, but we already know that will happen. Spartanburg needs to force Gaffney into some passing situations, they have had their struggles at quarterback this season.

For Gaffney get in the backfield and make good tackles. Lynch is a hard man to bring down but the Indians have some good defenders like Andrew Ruppe who are up to the task.  Offensively get the ball out quick.

Other Picks:

Boiling Springs will roll Eastside.

Greer should have no issue with TR.

Woodruff will beat Broome.

MVP will remain undefeated on the season with a win over Union.

And last but not least,

Chesnee will defeat Blacksburg.

Have fun at the games tonight and take it all in. We don’t have many weeks left. Cannot wait to talk about playoffs next week!
