The SCHSL playoffs got underway this past Friday night. The playoffs are always an exciting time. The opportunity to keep winning and play for a championship coupled with the knowledge every time you step on the field it could be your last time especially if you are a senior.
It is this time of year where we see the best shine the brightest. On of the best over the last few years shined really bright on Friday night and that is Chesnee’s KJ Proctor. For his efforts this past Friday night he has earned Electrifying Player of the Week honors for the first round of the playoffs.
KJ did everything Friday night for the Eagles to hear a hard fought win over a good Ninety-Six team 26-21. In the game Proctor ran the ball 19 times for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns on the offensive side, while recording 8 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown. Had it been a road game for the Eagles he would have asked to drive the bus so that he could have literally done everything.
This week the Eagles will travel to Fairfield Central to face the Griffins in the second round of the playoffs.
Congratulations to Chesnee on winning their first round playoff game Friday night and Congratulations to KJ Proctor our Electrifying Player of the Week for round 1.
