Week 1 POTW

The second week of the season is now over and there were some great games in our area.  Some more close games and a couple blowouts. One game though rose above the rest.  They needed not only the full four quarters but also an overtime period to decide the game.

We expected Broome and Chesnee to be a good one and indeed it was.  Broome had a good lead only to see Chesnee make a big comeback in the 4th to force overtime.  Broome scored in OT and kicked the extra point while Chesnee scored and went for two and didn’t get it allowing the Centurions to secure the win.

Broome’s Tyqwon  Booker was instrumental in the Centurions 35-34 victory and his efforts in the game were enough to make him our Week One Fox Sports Spartanburg Electrifying Player of the Week presented by Broad River Electric Cooperative. Booker carried the ball 21 times for 219 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also having 3 catches for 21 yards and 1 sack.

Congratulations to Tyqwon Booker on being the Week One Electrifying Player of the week and congratulations to the Broome Centurions on a big win against the Chesnee Eagles.
