Since the schedules were officially released we have had the MVP at Woodruff game circled as what could potentially be the game of the year. Leading up to the game both of these teams had lived up to the expectations we had for both of them in the preseason, so we expected more of what we got from this game last year, a close game that came down to the very end. That did not happen.
Woodruff came out with a plan, and that plan was give the ball to Aiden Gibson and let him go. That plan worked. Woodruff came out and punched MVP in the mouth and never looked back and cruised to an impressive 49-28 win that puts the Wolverines in the drivers seat in that region.
There is no doubt who should be this week’s Electrifying Player of the Week, and that is Woodruff’s running back Aiden Gibson. Gibson was unstoppable Friday night carrying the ball 18 times for 299 yards and 4 touchdowns while catching 1 pass for 50 yards and another touchdown. Yes if you do the math Gibson accounted for 349 yards of total offense and 5 touchdowns! that is an electrifying night if I have ever seen one.
Congratulations to the Wolverines on the win and Congratulations to Aiden Gibson this weeks Electrifying Player of the Week pretend by Broad River Electric Cooperative!
