Last two weeks of the regular season. Playoffs are in sight. Lot of stuff on the line over the next two weeks. Who is going to get the big wins, earn those region titles, or home playoff games? Will some of our teams miss out? Soon we will know all the answers.
Spartanburg at Byrnes-
I really thing the answer to this game is simple. Whichever team is injured the least going in will win. Both teams have been dealing with some injury issues to key players. If Byrnes has their guys back and Spartanburg doesn’t the Rebels will win. If it is the other way around the Vikings will win. If both teams have their players back then buckle up this could be a good one.
I am very excited about seeing the new Nixon Field. I have heard a lot of very good things and cannot wait to see it for myself. Make it out to the game if you can if not tune us in for the call.
MVP ar Broome-
The stars were handed their first regular season loss in school history last week at the hands of the Woodruff Wolverines. MVP is a better team than Broome. However I have been doing this a long time and things are not always that cut and dry. The big question this week is how does MVP respond to that loss? Do they let it motivate them or do they let it beat them twice? I have seen it happen both ways a ton over the years.
If the Stars respond well they will win this game with ease. If Broome come out and punches them in the mouth early and they Stars start having flashbacks to Aiden Gibson last week they could lose again.
I think Coach Ramsey will have them focused and MVP will bounce back.
Pick: MVP
Gaffney at Dorman-
Heavyweight running matchup here. Both of these teams run the ball really well. Who will have the defense to get a couple stops in the running game? Also, Gaffney has got to clean up all the penalties. Over 200 years in penalties last week against Riverside. No offense to the Warriors but Dorman ain’t Riverside. If you make too many mistakes against the Cavs they will make you pay. Dorman winning this game would of course complicate things in the region picture so it will probably happen.
I think the Gaffney penalties finally bit them in the butt tonight.
Pick: Dorman
Boiling Springs will beat Riverside tonight but it will likely be closer than the Bulldog faithful want it to be.
Woodruff will continue their march to a region title with a win over Chapman tonight. The Panthers got their first win of the season last week against Union.
Crescent will hand Chesnee another loss this week in non-region play.
Liberty was impressive last week in a win over Chesnee and I think they will knock off Landrum again tonight.
Don’t forget to make your picks along with us on the Friday Night Tailgate Pick Them Contest Presented by McDonald’s. You can find that on mine or Brett’s Facebook Page or on the Bump and Run Facebook or Twitter. You have a chance to win some free food from McDonald’s.
Remember to be kind to each other this week!
