Boiling Springs

Week 10 Picks

Man. How is it possible that tonight is the final night of the regular season? I guess the Steve Miller Band was right when they said, “Time keeps on slipping into the future.” Actually feels like it is flying into the future. Next week we will start the playoffs but there are still a few things to be decided first.

Dorman can win the region title tonight with a win over Eastside. I think the Cavs will get it done and with a little help they could end up the #1 overall seed in 5A Division 1.  Give me Dorman tonight in a game that may end quickly (lots of running).

One of the most fun rivalries in our area is alway Landrum and Chesnee. Those two teams will renew their rivalry tonight at Chesnee. Both teams have been on the struggle bus recently and desperately need a win. To make the playoffs Landrum has to win and win by more than two touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Cardinals I think Chesnee gets the win tonight.

I like the Byrnes Rebels to keep rolling and defeat Boiling Springs tonight.

Broome and Chapman also play tonight. A lot of times this regular season finale has been for the region title but that is not the case this year. However a home playoff game is on the line tonight. Broome lost their quarterback Jameson Dearybury last week to an arm injury and that will have a major impact on this game, but I still think Broome gets it done.

I also like Daniel over Greer tonight, Woodruff over Union, and Gaffney over Wade Hampton.

Have a happy Halloween and be careful tonight if you are out driving around making sure to watch out for kids who might be out stocking up on candy. If you are home giving out stuff tonight, remember no kid wants apples or raisins. Candy and lots of it!

Remember to be kind to people this week and treat others with respect. Never know what one kind word or a smile could mean to someone. See you next week for the PLAYOFFS!

“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.” – William Arthur Ward
