Colt Fowler is no stranger to the Player of the Week award or a number of other honors and accolades. He is simply one of the best, and also most consistent players in our area. Last year was a big year for him and the Rebels and so far this year doesn’t look like it is going to be any different.
Colt earned Fox Sports Spartanburg Electrifying Player of the Week honors for the games played last week in which the Rebels went 2-0 in region play earning wins over Gaffney and Spartanburg. In those two games Fowler continued his streak of double doubles growing that tally to near double figures. In the game last Tuesday against Gaffney he had 32 points, 4 rebounds, and 11 assists. Against the Vikings on Friday he garnered 25 points, 2 rebounds, and 11 more assists.
On a larger scale Colt’s 11.2 assists per game average is good enough to have him ranked #1 nationally in high school basketball while 24.2 points per game has him ranked 5th in the state.
Byrnes looks to keep things rolling this week but standing in the way Tuesday night are the perennial power in the state the Dorman Cavaliers. You can hear that game right here on Fox Sports Spartanburg Tuesday night at 7:30.
Congratulations to Byrnes on another great start and congratulations to Colt Fowler on another Electrifying week!
