What a great season we had in our area this year. We had multiple teams ranked all season in the SCBCA Top 10’s in their respective classifications. In the games we had on the radio we had multiple overtime thrillers, big time region match ups and great team performances. We had a lot of fun on Fouled Out after games. It was great to get around different High Schools in our area to see some hardwood action. As we near the end of the season lets take time to recognize some of the best individual performers from the 2025-2026 basketball season.
Player of the Year
Colt Fowler, Jr, Byrnes
This year as a Junior he averaged 24.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 10.6 assists per game. He has led his team to an Upperstate title game this Saturday against Ridge View in Rock Hill. Colt is now a two time Fouled Out player of the year and the 2025-26 South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association 5A Player of the Year.. He already has scored 1,452 points and has 763 assists in his career at Byrnes.
All-Area Team
Eli Brown, Sr, Chesnee
Brown led the Eagles to an amazing season. He averaged 22.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game this season. They finished 2nd in a very competitive region and were ranked in the SCBCA association top 10 for 2A all season long. Eli finished his high school career with over 1600 career points scored. He also led 2A in scoring for the state.
Grayden Humphries, Jr, Chapman
Humphries was an integral part in a Panther team who completely flipped the script from last year’s campaign. Chapman went 22-6(8-2) this year after only having 8 wins a season ago. He averaged 17.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. He also had 57 steals on the season pacing the Panthers defense.
Jaden Johnson, Jr, Dorman
Last time we spoke to Coach Ryan on Fouled Out he praised Johnson as one of the most complete guards he has ever coached. That’s high praise considering the talent the Cavs seem to have year in and year out. Johnson averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, helping lead Dorman to their 10th straight year of winning at least 20 games and 10 straight years in the Elite 8.
Johnston Abrams, Sr, Spartanburg
Another team who increased their win total this past season, Abrams also increased his level of play. Averaging 21.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game he helped the Vikings go from 11-16(5-9) to 17-11(8-6) to finish a respectable 4th in one of the toughest regions in the state. The Vikings also won their first playoff game since 2020, and the most wins in a regular season (16) since 2009.
Ma’ori Henderson, Sr, Mountain View Prep
Henderson led MVP to their first ever region title in basketball. After going 10-14(6-4) last year the Stars to a 20-6(9-1) record and an UpperState Championship berth. He averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. All season the Stars played some of the most ferocious defense you will see partly due to Henderson’s 92 steals and 15 blocks on the year. MVP Plays Christ Church on Friday night for the right to play for a state title.
